It’s Not Too Late to Explore Alaska This Year via Seattle
It’s not too late to explore Alaska this year via Seattle! If you’re looking to take the vacation of a lifetime, then consider booking an Alaska cruise leaving from Seattle. There are still plenty of options available starting at only $65 per day for sailings departing between now and mid-September.
Seattle as a departure port offers a wide variety of cruise lines. The Norwegian Jewel or Norwegian Pearl, Holland America Line’s ms Amsterdam or ms Westerdam, the Crown Princess, and Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas all sail to Alaska until the middle of September.
Whichever cruise line you choose, rest assured that the memories you’ll make cruising and exploring in the Last Frontier State will be some that you’ll never forget in your lifetime.
To make your experience even better, cruising to Alaska is not going to break the bank. For example, right now, you can book a 10-day roundtrip Alaska cruise from Seattle on the Norwegian Jewel starting at only $649 per person.
Cruise season to Alaska begins May 1st and ends the third week in September. Instead of going to during peak months, such as July or August, we recommend that you book your vacation during what is known as “shoulder season”, which refers to May and September, if you’re looking to cut costs.
The good thing about spending time in Alaska during the shoulder season is that temperatures are still mild enough for you to enjoy a wide variety of activities like hiking, whale watching and horseback riding around ports of call such as Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, but cruise tickets tend to be noticeably more affordable. When you book with us, you’ll find that many of our discounted trips are available at the beginning and end of the season.
Another plus to visiting Alaska during the shoulder season is that towns tend to be less crowded. You’ll spend far less time waiting in line to buy your ticket to the Tongass Historical Museum and Alaska State Museum and there will be more availability when booking excursions. And you have a better chance of witnessing the spectacular Northern Lights in May or September.
Of course, as always, our suggestions are only meant as advice. If you have any more questions about when to sail to Alaska on a budget, feel free to contact us.
